Annotating writing
We had to annotate a lot of different writing pieces this year. I had to annotate The Giver, a collection of dystopia stories, and a collection of Sherlock Holmes's stories. Different "annotation worthy" instances are questions, comments, unknown vocabulary words, and predictions. Annotate this poem with the questions, comments, vocabulary, and predictions.

Surface area and volume of a cylinder
This year, during a project called the DIY math problem, I used the volume and surface area of a cylinder to form a word problem. The diameter of the top of the cylinder is eight centimeters. The hight of the cylinder is ten centimeters. Use the equations below and the illustration on the side to find both.
The formula for the surface area of a cylinder is:
A= 2(pi)rh+2(pi)(r*r)
The formula for the volume of a cylinder is:
V= (pi)(r*r)h
Using "Flava" In poems and songs
"FLAVA" is when you take a piece of writing, like a song or a poem, and add other things to make it interesting. When someone enunciates a certain important word in a poem, or when they hold out a certain note while singing or playing an instrument, they are using "FLAVA." Look at this poem:

Now add places where, (if it were said,) it would be enunciated, said quickly, etc. Afterwards, come up with hand motions to describe the enunciated words. Not all of them, but some of them. I have my version to.
